It was a privilege to attend Lawrence's funeral today and share a fond farewell to a great man. While I hadn't known him as long as many it was easy to see why he was regarded with such affection. Many nights out filled with laughter that won't be forgotten. Listening to the anecdotes and thinking on the way home it was clear his was a life well lived. At 51 I realise how little I have done in my life by comparison.

Lawrie our closest friend we will miss you and all our antics. We had some amazing fun. Can't believe you've gone. Till we meet again don't drive them mad with your jokes.

Dear Lawrie,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a supportive and special friend to myself and my boys, James and Matt.
You and Gillie have been a big part of our lives for many years. I will miss your naff jokes but treasure the memories of lobster pots and seeing you disappear off the end of the jetty, after a session in Mersea YC !
With much love and thanks for everything.
Val, James and Matt xxx
