Always ready with a laugh and a joke and unfailingly upbeat Lawrie was always a joy to be around. Full of bonhomie, smiles and always interested in everything from today's news to iron age items he had excavated himself he always viewed the world from a 'glass half full' standpoint, always positive and extremely stoic in his last weeks. Erudite, entertaining, intelligent, well read, funny and fun. Lawrie was a good friend and I will miss him dearly.
